Medicare Part D
Medicare Part D, also called the Medicare Prescription Drug benefit, is an optional U.S. Federal Government program to help Medicare-eligible beneficiaries pay for self-administered prescription drugs by enrolling into prescription drug (Part D) plans.

Medicare Supplement Plans
A Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) Policy is offered by private insurance companies and helps pay some of the healthcare costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like co pays.
